Laptop Batteries Acer Aspire
New Acer Aspire 3533 laptop battery unused for a year, initially charged o.k., doesn't now. Can anybody help?
OK, is the battery actually charging - do you get the charge light coming on? If not then it is likely to be either the DC jack or your AC adapter which is at fault. Try a known working AC adapter, and if that doesn't cure it, then it is almost certainly a DC jack problem.
Fixing this involves the stripping down of your laptop and soldering on a new DC jack - best left to the experts.
If it is charging, then I'd anticipate it's the battery at fault. Try another one and see how you go from there.
