Laptop Cooling Stands
Is it bad to leave a laptop running continuously?
I fly flight sim for 2 virtual airlines and most always have a flight in progress, many flights lasting 8 hours or more, some 13 hour legs(YSSY to KLAX0 and my wife says it is bad to leave it running all of the time. I have a Belken cooling stand for additional cooling.
No, its OK to leave on and plugged in. I have mine connected 24/7 and hardly ever turn it off and have had no problems, the main thing is to not let it over heat as it will automatically shut down if it overheats. I always using a very good cooling pad as it sounds like you also do. If the cost of electricity is not a problem it is OK, but you should turn it off on occasion to let it cool completely and to install updates.
