Laptop Docking Station Mac
Sony DCR-SR82 and Mac Powerbook?
I have the above Camcorder and laptop. The Apple laptop does not seem to recognize the camcorder when docked in it's station and connected via USB.... This is hard to believe!
Is there something else I need? Please advise
All help welcomed.
On a Mac a USB cable that is used with cameras are for transferring pictures, not video.
You will need a 4 - 6 pin firewire cable aka iLink and IEEE1394.
You will also need 3rd party software like MPEG Streamclip to convert the video, it's in mpeg2, to dv. The reason is because iMovie doesn't support the mpeg2 format.
