Laptop Gaming Benchmarks

i put a second ati radeon hd 3870 in my alienware m17 laptop and now my benchmark scores are worse also fps?
i ordered it from alienware withe the crossfire cable and instructions... installing it was easy... when i booted the cpu it automatically recognized and installed it as a slave and enabled cross fire... i ran a benchmark using 3d benchmark06 and my score was way worse than when i only had one ati radeon hd 3870 installed... my fps was worse and all my games are laggy now... i dont know whats going on? my m17 has a intel core 2 duo 2.26 ghz and 4 gig of ddr3 ram also a 160 gb 7,200 hd and a second slave 320 gb 7,200 hd... i dont understand why it is so laggy? and the fps is so bad now? i mean i thought i was upgrading? i sure spent a pretty penny and it seems like for a decrease! plz help me any advice would be great! i just want to get this thing cooking!
It sounds like you may need to download the newest drivers for your graphics cards. Quite often, new drivers will make all the difference. If that doesn't work, you may need to flash your system BIOS to the latest version. Your computer may recognize the new hardware, but if it doesn't have the correct software to make it work things could get worse.
Try heading over to the Alienware support page and downloading the latest ATI drivers from them and try your benchmarks again. If that doesn't help, try to check and see if an updated BIOS is available.
That's the best I can suggest. I mean, your computer DOES recognize the card, so there is likely no component issues. The operating system even set up the Crossfire. So, my money is on either a driver, or BIOS, issue.
I hope this helps. If you need more help, please add more details to this question, or feel free to email me through my Yahoo! Answers profile.
Good luck.
