Laptop Memory Pc2700 1gb
Question about adding laptop memory?
I've got a toshiba laptop, an M30-q31, a few yaesr old. It came with 512mb of Ram, and I'd like to add more. The specs say that the memory is 200-pin, pc2700 DDr SODIMM, at 333Mhz. do I have to use exactly this type of memory? There are some good boxing day specials, but not with these exact specs. can I use the following:

Can I use DDR2 memory?
You have to use the ram/memory chip sets that match and to the exact spec.'s for your lap top or you will have problems, but you can use any brand chip sets, Toshiba, Western Digital etc. you should have the computer store look them up and prices. Also look at the maximum ram your system will allow. If it says 1GB max use two matching 512 MB chip sets if it only has contacts for one chip then use one of the maximum size. The mother board and processor control the speed not the ram.
