multiple nic in a laptop how can i install a software with required physical address of nic to create licence?
i have a laptop with multiple nic like wireless, LAN & WI-fi. I am basically a mechanical engineering i want to install a mechanical software designing tool called pro-e(professional engineering ver 2001). I am trying to install it. After installing the software request for a physical address of nic to generate licence file because i have multiple nic the licence key is not generating
you have a router that has DHCP you have 2 nic cards that require to defferent IP addresses. you can give one a static IP and one dhcp that is possible.
ok here is how you do it. go to your control panel and click network connections then right click on your onboard nic card click properties scroll down to internet protocol TCP/IP
next hilight the internet protocol and only hilight it. then click properties and select use the following ip address and the enter one ip that is different from your wireless card. look at the ip address of your wireless card and enter one number different. also the default gateway needs to be the same as the wireless card and subnet mask the same. just look at your router also to give you one static IP address and input the one you just added to your card. your router will then look for that ip address and give you network access and then you will be good to go. also DO NOT mess with the DNS leave that ALONE. all you do is give it a static IP and enter the subnet mask and default gateway that is all.
